On-draught @ Falling Rock Taphouse. $8 USD per 16oz pour.
Pours a vibrant copper and a frothy white cap. Looks apt for the style.
AROMA: Resinous and floral, never betraying its high ABV. Pale malts keep it balanced. Fragrant and inviting, bringing plenty of hop aromatics but seeming mellow.
Aromatic intensity is mild.
TASTE: Pale malts provide the backbone to this dangerously innocuous ale. Floral and fruity hops are emphasized, but nothing jumps out as distinct (I'd guess centennial is in there if there's a gun to my head).
TEXTURE: Smooth, wet, creamy, medium-bodied, overcarbonated, approachable.
Not sticky, gushed, hot, boozy, astringent, harsh, rough or scratchy.
OVERALL: Nice work from Comrade yet still in the inevitable shadow of their superior Superpower, Hail to the King, Baby is a solid expression of the style that hides its ABV well but fails to measure up to the best beers in the style.
B- (3.42) / WORTHY

2nd impression on-draught @ Comrade.
Floral and juicy, with some not unpleasant soapiness in there as well.
