There was something great about this place. On a recent tour of several breweries around Lake County, Zümbier stood head and shoulders above the rest. It had a cozy, worn-in vibe and super friendly proprietors. The space was like an ideal basement hangout with comfy seating, dim lighting, and awesome music from Parliament/Funkadelic on the stereo.
We rolled in late on a weekend, right before last call. They were super helpful and accommodating, giving great recommendations and guiding us through the drafts. Larry the brewer was on hand, and a real joy to chat with. Lauren was the bartender and was super helpful and personable.
Beer selection was varied and eclectic, stuff like a raspberry pomegranate sour ale, a clean intensely hoppy IPA, an Altbier, a barrel-aged porter on nitro, blood orange witbier, a couple hazies, and more. Even more stuff in the to-go cooler, including a sour mash BA imperial stout and a rum barrel aged coconut milk stout (these were both great). Quality was second to none, had 6 beers and all were unique and expressive. They started canning earlier this year and had an assortment of singles and 4 packs to go. Currently only distributing to 10 or so locations around Lake Co.
Overall this was easily the best brewery i’ve been to in the area, and I highly recommend it.

Small taproom located in an industrial park. There is a bar and some couches. They have as many as 13 beers on tap. There is a cooler with cans that you can drink in the taproom or take with you to go. The service was very friendly and attentive during our visit. Nothing fancy but the beer is good.

Great place, Retro style. Good atmosphere. They have tables out in front when the weather is nice. They give free popcorn while you drink. There is no kitchen but, outside food is welcome. Not sure if they have menus of local restaurants. Good selection of their beers - 13 beers on tap. The tap room is open 5 days a week They have Trivia Night, Bottle shares sometimes and you can have a party in the back room if you plan ahead. Great Hangout!
