Crime & Punishment Brewing Co. "Magic Lantern"
on tap at the brewery on 21 January 2017
$4 / 8 oz.
Notes: "Sugar cookie & vanilla IPA". Turbid body like a NE IPA, mainly tan in color with a hint of yellow - looks a little like a sugar cookie. Short head of creamy white holds modestly well and leaves some average lacing behind. Aroma of hop resin and citrus, no malt or sugar or vanilla. Medium-light body with a delicate zestiness. The flavor brings some light malt to the table, along with a hint of sweetness, and a wider but not distinct fruitiness (meaning you can't pick out specific fruits). It's basically citrusy, and although you might get a glimmer of the vanilla the sugar cookie is nowhere to be found except in the appearance. Solidly bitter with a dry finish. Lingering pine and citrus.
