Another instant classic brewed by Buoy Beer in collaboration with Killer Burger, Ruckus Red Ale is an approachable beer for everyone from the most discerning craft connoisseurs to those new to the style. The mild hop bitterness of Crystal hops rests on the palate and balances the unique malty flavors of a blend of Red X, Crystal, Victory, Roasted Barley, and Midnight Wheat malts.

Look: Deep ruby red, opaque, and a hefty beige head forms quickly, pulling back to a pillow and leaving behind great lacing
Aroma: Warm bread, floral hops, toffee, some earthy hop notes, slight wheat notes, and a slight roast-like malt note as well
Taste: Huge bready malt out front – brown bread, wheat bread, and some toasted bread too. Earthy and floral hops come on following and work nicely with the malt, though definitely not hogging the show. Fruity esters near the end and a soft finish
Mouthfeel: Silky, full of flavor and body – almost chewy but stops short of that. Medium carbonation and a soft finish
Overall: This is knocking it out of the park for me right now. I’ve always liked Buoy’s NW Red Ale (more hop forward to me) but this just smoked that one in the standings. A really unique tasting red ale - definitely malt forward – and almost to my palate like an English bitter and a red ale had a crazy (and awesome) love child. Right up my alley as those are two of my favorite styles. Awesome stuff here and highly recommended!
