16oz can

Pours a half finger of dense, pillowy white head into my Perfect Pint glass. Retention is immaculate, with every bit of head remaining after a few minutes. Initial lacing looks pretty good as well. Body is golden orange, crystal clear, with a massive amount of bubbles coming up. Looks great so far.

Nose is malty, a little bit bready/toasty, some caramel, moderately sweet. Smells fine.

Flavor is pretty neutral; light malt, faint caramel. Finishes almost fatty, along with a noticeable bitterness. Tastes fine, underwhelming.

A medium carbonation is holding up nicely. Body drinks light, but has a subtle weight to it - definitely a little fatty / creamy. Sweetness isn't very high, but it's far from dry. Bitterness is low-medium. Overall a serviceable mouthfeel, with a unique fatty touch.

Drinkability is pretty decent, bitterness and alcohol show up for a nano second, but don't really slow things down too much.

Appearance turned out amazing, a small bit of foam lasted all the way down, and the lacing was perfect.

Overall this is ok, clean enough, just not very complex at all. I'm somewhat unfamiliar with the style, but this seems like it could have a lot more going on.

Look: Clear bronze-orange in color with a sudsy head that builds and quickly fizzles away to a film, leaving minimal lacing behind
Aroma: Freshly baked bread, raw dough, a little melanoidin, floral hops, cracker-like malt notes, and light wafts of toffee
Taste: Opens with a huge hit of rich and deep malt flavors – toasted bread, dough, graham crackers, melanoidin, and warmed grains – all that build on each other well. Floral hops and some sweetness weave in and out throughout and it closes with some toffee and more malt
Mouthfeel: Full, very clean throughout, medium-high carbonation, and clean and crisp but with some softness on the finish
Overall: This is some tasty stuff. I’ve always been a fan of these folks’ lager game and was pumped to hear they had expanded that program of which this spawned from because it’s good. Checks all the Maibock boxes well and brings a ton of malty goodness and depth throughout. I hope I see this and future releases in my area as I’ll be buyin’

Highly malt forward - yay. All Euro malts & hops, very traditional taste. Soft and slightly sweet. Hops are providing a supporting role for this beer. Light carbonation, clean finish. A very well made lager.
