A classic Belgian Abbey Quadrupel with dark-fruit notes including cherry, plum, and raisin. A gorgeous burgundy color, the Odin Quad is made once a year around December, and is available on draft while supplies last.

Pours, hazy mahogany in color with one quarter inch head. Taste is dark bread, brown sugar and raisin. Heavy body, low carbonation, sweet but not cloying. Makes for a nice domestic example of the style. Would get again.

Pours with little head, medium opaque brown with a yellowish tone. Smell is a slightly off sweet malt. Taste - maybe it had some hops that didn't age well - anyway it is fermented raisin juice with some spice that is not quite right. Feel is bubbly with some bicarbonate. Overall, this is OK, drinkable but with a lot of room for improvement. Bottle dated 12/15/2017.

Pouring a cellar temp 22 oz bottle into my snifter. Picked this beer up on a recent beer run in Massachusetts.
The beer pours a clear caramel to mahogany color with minimal dense beige head of bubbles even with a fairly assertive pour.
The foam fades to a sticky surface layer that makes dense lattice on each sip from the glass.
My nose gets a lot of dark malts on this brew. Dark fruit with plum, raisins and fig is dominant but also some toffee and caramel come through as well. Maybe a little bit of red grape and malbec note buried in the aroma too. I dont get any hop profile and this doesnt seem very boozy. Pretty nice nose on this brew sweet and malty.
First sip reveals an average to thicker body with fine and tingly carbonation. the texture is pretty sticky and coats my palate on each sip.
Flavor is what I would expect from the nose, with dark fruits of raisin fig and plum and again red grape. I also get brown sugar and the caramel flavor. The finish is a little sweet and a little wine like. A bit of booze on the swallow with some warming. Again no hops anywhere on this one.
A ice robust quad that doesnt hide the fact that its a bit of a sipper and has a pretty complex flavor profile. Nice beer.

Poured a semi clear dark tea color in an Orval glass with a 1F head.

Aroma: lots of plum, fig, and dates.

Smooth MF, light body. Not too light.

Strong plum, and fig taste. Some malt.

Light bitter finish.

One of the better American brewed Belgian Quads I have tasted in a while. Lot of balance. Melded flavors. I enjoy the beers from this brewery.

First beer from this brewery, and it's a big one.

Pours a smaller fizzy bubbly brown head that fades semi quickly, typical for the style and abv, a touch of lacing, light but decent legs, very clear auburn ruby slight mahogany reddish brown.

Nose is pretty much what I expect for a nice quad, plenty of dark fruits, candied raisin fig date etc, but not too syrupy sweet, a little candi sugar, other esters with maybe even a touch of banana, mild spicy phenols with a faint booze waft, candy malts with some toasty reddish and biscuity malts.

Taste brings sweet candy at first, not too sweet but there, candi sugar, molasses, a little toffee, etc, with more biscuity toasty brown malts, a little copper malt character as well. Then yeast characters kick in, plenty of fruity esters again, big candied date, juicy fig, some raisin characters, candied apple, etc, with a mild booze warmth and phenol character. Finish a little dry, a touch sticky but not much, faint fruity esters still, a little phenolic booze, mild candi sugar and sweet malts, but mostly clean.

Mouth is fuller bod, a little syrupy, but lighter on the carb, touch of warming booze.

Overall pretty nice, if it had a bit more carbonation it would have popped even more I think, but still very well done, nice characters, good sweet flavors without being too sweet or syrupy or sticky even, enjoyable for sure.

ABANDONED BUILDING ODIN QUAD 3/4/16

Poured from the 22 oz. bomber into a Samuel Adams English nonick.

a: Clear copper with an inch thick offwhite head which receded to thin surface foam and just a bit of spotty lacing.

s: Slight dark fruit.

t: Follows the nose, leaning to prune and plum. Light to moderate bite follows on the sweetish finish. High ABV is well covered, although alcohol becomes more evident.

m: Medium, good body and carbonation tingle.

o: An ok quad, perhaps a bit light for the style and with modest flavor. Nonetheless, easy drinking for such a high ABV.

Had sample in tasting room and Growler pour later at home.
A= Deep brown, opaque. Maintains thin head.
S= Rich fruits, plum, black cherry!
T= Deep and rich flavors of dark fruits, balanced, no real hint of high ABV in the flavor.
M= Thick and smooth, appealing. Light carbonation that suits the style.
O= Very drinkable, great by the fire after a long day, 9.4% ABV does not overpower the flavor.
