In January of 2020 we set to rest some of our 2019 vintage Odin Quad into freshly emptied Wild Turkey bourbon barrels. Now the time is right to bring this luscious, one of a kind, barrel aged beer to everyone. Belgian Style Abbey Quad is a rare beer for craft brewers to make in a world full of IPA, and bourbon barrel aged Quad is almost non-existent. This is one of our best barrel aged releases ever.

Pours a smaller fizzy off-white head with lower retention, a touch of lacing, decent legs, clear but darker ruby mahogany color
nose is nice, some bourbon whiskey characters, little toasted oak character, base quad brings quite a bit of sweet characters, lots of dark candi sugar, molasses, toffee, caramelized sugars, as well as some nice dark fruits, fig, raisin, a touch of butterscotch, some smooth alcohol, a little honey
Taste brings lots more sweet characters, caramel and toffee up front, caramelized sugars and molasses as well as reddish candy fruit coating and Belgian candi sugar, a bit of bourbon but not much, smooth perfumey alcohol, lots of fruity esters as well, more fig, date, plum, even a little cranberry, nice malt-derived esters, it hints at syrupy but doesn't get there, a little vanilla from the barrel, and a little toasted oak but not much, a touch of bitterness, sticky sweet finish, lingering sweet characters, a bit of warming alcohol, lingering candied fruit
Mouth is med to fuller bod, fair syrupy feel, med-light warming alcohol, med foamy carb
Overall not bad, good base quad, just wish there was more barrel character.
