ABANDONED BUILDING/BEEROLOGY MANHAN TRAIL PALE ALE 6/30/17
A collab between a popular local brewery and a homebrewer/supplier. Brewed for the local Beer Week celebrations.
Poured from the 16 oz. can into a Tree House stemmed tulip pint.
a: Hazy gold with an inch thick white head which settled to a layer of surface foam over patchy lacing.
s: Citrus leaning to orange.
t: Follows the nose somewhat with a mild to moderate hop bite over a medium biscuit malt base. Nicely balanced at 40 IBUs, dry finish with slight citrus notes. Grapefruit rind notes develop as it warms.
m: Medium plus, great body and some carbonation tingle.
o: A very fine American style Pale which could also pass as an American IPA. The hops occasionally become slightly harsh but overall a substantial and excellent brew which I hope against "brewed once" hope continues to be offered. As sessionable and about as fine as AB's own excellent Hydra Pale.
