This Irish Red ale has is crystal-clear, with a clean, crisp flavor centering around its malt backbone. With a lovely red hue and a touch of malty sweetness, this easy-drinking seasonal beer is available on draft around St. Patrick’s day,

Poured from a pint can into a pint glass. Body of the beer is deep amber, slightly reddish. One fingered off-white head with some lacing. Aroma of malt, with a hint of unknown spices. The first sip reveals roasted malts well blended with the hops to give it a clean aftertaste, easy on the tongue.

Pours a med foamy off-white head with med retention, a bit of lacing, clear auburn to ruby red color

Nose has a nice Irish red ale, lots of toasted reddish malt, thick caramelized bread crust, even a little chocolate danish character, biscuity, bready, some caramel and toffee sweetness, some sweet malt, a little herbal hop

Taste brings more sweet reddish malt, lots of toasted malts and biscuity bready flavors again, a bit of caramel and toffee as well, more bread crust, and sweet danish flavors, a little roasty and chocolate danish note again, then more herbal slight spicy hops with med-lighter bitterness, quite of a U.K. style hop, clean beer in general

Mouth is med bod, not too syrupy despite the sweet characters, med to a bit higher foamy carb

Overall nice well done Irish red ale.

Enjoyed on draft at the brewery.
A - Deep copper color, gently carbonated, rings of evidence cling to the glass
S - Sweet malts, a bit of grassy hops, then a nice brown sugar element runs in
T - Follows the nose quite well, malt base is stronger on the palate, earthy hops a present in this phase
M - Medium in body, gently carbonated, rich in the finish with a solid base on display
O - A solid Irish Red, that drinks well and am happy to have produced locally

ABANDONED BUIILDING IRISH FAREWELL 4/21/19

a: Clear ruby/copper with a deep white head which recededslowly to thin wisps of surface foam and spotty lacing.

s; Caramel malt.

t: Follows the nose but balanced just right with hops. Midly sweet finish.

m; Medium, good body and carbonartion tingle.

o; An easy drinking red, pleasant and tasty. Near perfect for the European style.

I'm a big fan of Red Ales and Irish Red Ales particularly when they're not totally dominated by the malt. Irish Farewell is the best I've come across in my travels as far as satisfying my preference for a balanced use of malt in their formula. A very satisfying drink any time of the year whenever I can find it available in my area.

16 oz can into pint glass. Dated 2/27/19.
Cloudy ruby red look. Smell is mostly malty. Taste is a balanced hop and malt blend; more malt. Feel is fairly light. Overall a well balanced red ale that I would drink again.
