Pours a fizzy bubbly almost 1 finger tan head with good retention, a bit of lacing, dark basically black color
Nose brings a ton of barrel, big buttery oak, vanilla oak, some sweet bourbon barrel juice, sweet candy cherry note, with a general fruity character, a bit of dark chocolate, for some reason the cherry makes me thing beginning of infection but I just think it's the cherry, touch of roast
Taste starts fairly sweet, with chocolate covered cherries, moist chocolate cake, cocoa, rich vanilla ice cream, some cherry juice, a bit of roast, into a little caramel and baking spices, some buttery oak but less than the nose, and more vanilla, a little bourbon but that gets a bit lost in the chocolate cake flavor, smooth alcohol, a bit of bitterness, no infection flavors thankfully, a bit of creamy lactose and milk chocolate late, with a mild sticky sweet finish
Mouth is fuller bod, fairly rich but not overly, creamy, med-lighter carb, light warming alcohol
Overall pretty nice, I really liked the barrel on the nose although the cherry blended with buttery oak made my brain think start of infection but it isn't, taste delivered plenty of the cherry chocolate cake and vanilla, less on the barrel but enough, still pretty nice all around
