Poured from a pint can into a pint glass. A 3 finger, white head sits on top of a bright, pale yellow body of beer. A slightly hoppy aroma arises to the nose. The first sip has that nice snap of dry crispness, as a highly attenuated beer should, followed by the light hops flavor to cleanse the palate. I discovered Kolsch beer while traveling in Germany back in the '80s, where it was made in the area in and around Cologne. One of my summer favorites, and this is an excellent example!

Canned 2022/03/10
Pours a frothy foamy 1 finger head with moderate retention, fair soapy lacing, very hazy (bad for kolsch), med golden tan color

Nose starts with sweet grainy malts, doughy, bready, hint of fruity ester note, light herbal hop, a touch of corn and possibly buttery diacetyl but can't tell

Taste semi sweet cereal grainy malt, a bit doughy and bready again ,touch of fruity note again but barely, light floral herbal hop with a touch of bitterness, mostly clean and a bit crisp with a softness as well, I think there's a very faint hint of diacetyl that I get now and then, very light but I think it's there

Mouth is med bod, soft lagered-like feel, med carb

Overall not bad, quite hazy and that hint of diacetyl makes me feel like it could have used a touch more time to finish cold
