Brewed 4/28/14
A: Pale hue in between gold and copper. Pours with a big creamy head about 2 1/2 fingers worth. The head stays put for a while leaving light lacing.
S: Strong smell of lemon zest, clementines with a hint of ginger and pine bark. A lot going on in the aroma. As it warms I get a bit of toasted wheat in the background.
T: Good lemon forward flavor with a nice sweet honey finish. Bits of the tangy lemons hang around leaving a tangy aftertaste. Reminds me of a hefeweizen with a bunch of fresh squeezed lemon juice mixed in.
M: Good medium to full bodied beer. Very creamy.
O: Interesting brew. Takes the best characteristics of hefeweizen, summer ale, and american pale ale and mixes them together with fresh lemons. The color and pine notes of a pale ale, the lemon flavor of a summer ale with hints of hefe mixed in. Very interesting and worth trying if you get the chance.
