Look: black with a faint mahogany tint that appears when held up to a light. Thick espresso like head with great lacing and moderate retention
Smell: chocolate milk, dark malts, toasted bread
Taste: milk chocolate, roasted pecans, notes of brown sugar. Nice bitter finish; black coffee aftertaste. An excellent balance of sweet and bitter
Feel: liquid velvet
Overall: Excellent beer that is not very filling like most stouts.

Finally get to try this out of the bottle now that it made it to BR!
A- Pours a pitch black with almost zero head.
S- Sweet lactose and chocolate with a subdued roastiness.
T- Sweet bread and malt. Chocolate and char.
M- Slick and coating. Low carbonation.
D- Robust enough so that one is a great dessert but light enough not to fill me up and deter me from drinking another.

New Basin Stout has a very thin, beige head, a dark brown appearance, and minimal lacing left behind. The aroma is of sweet, dark-roasted malt, bread crust, bread or cookie dough, possibly, and cream. Taste is of those elements, with a slight char and acidity. Mouthfeel is rather light and watery, and New Basin Stout finishes dry and highly drinkable.

Bomber. Pours perfect pitch black with two finger off white head, fades pretty quickly to a thin ring, tiny bit of lace. Dark chocolate and coffee in the aroma. The taste starts with bitter dark chocolate and coffee and then the hops come in to continue the bitterness. There's a little lactose sweetness in there, just enough, but the hops and coffee dominate. Mouthfeel is a little thin to medium, but does possess some slickness. I like some hops and bite in my stouts at times, and this one hit the spot. Nice job by 40 Arpent.
