March 24th, 2016 - This brewery's smoked beer was nice, but it looks like they do a solid hefeweizen beer as well. With a cloudy body and a nice portobello colored cap of foam, it still smells of ripe banana and clove, but tangy. Perhaps that's a touch of clementine and a general citrus acidity to give some brightness. The palate is soft and foamy, with an oddly savory aftertaste like a biscuit with gravy. Broadly there's some touches of pepper and cream, but the foretaste is the standard stuff for the style, with more of those esters.
