On tap at Microbar in Reykjavik, Iceland.
This one pours a dark-ish brown color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells generically malty, with some chocolate and sweet maltiness.
This sort of tastes like a flat soda, maybe – I love dark mild, but this isn’t exactly a great version of it. It’s blandly malty and sweet, with none of the snappiness and warm maltiness the style requires.
This is light bodied, slightly creamy, and drinkable enough, but not enjoyably so.
I have enjoyed other beers from Gæðingur on a previous trip to Iceland, but this one didn’t really work for me.
