RBESG 2016 in Barcelona. Shared bottle at the brewery. Imperial porter, 11% ABV. Black colour. Decent aroma and rich flavour of moderately roasted malts, hints of liquorice, red wine vinegar and possibly some brettanomyces.

Thick pour, pitch black, with a velvety espresso head. The smell is sour and smoky, wit dark cherries, prunes and a bit of lactose being present as well. The taste is incredible, smoky, sour and salty with complex notes of dark cherries, lambic yeast, dark chocolate, wine barrell (not sure if it is a BA beer, but the taste is there) and more. Thick mouthfeel, but not too sticky, with a bitter, sour and salty aftertaste. Great beer!

Served in a tulip here at Cerveceria Esparte in Conil, Spain.
Appearance: Black motor oil. Thick with medium bubbles. Head is dark tan maybe about 3/4" off the body.
Smell: Light chocolate and sweet sugars. You can actually smell sugar which is absolutely appetizing.
Taste: Complex sweet, you feel a little coffee but less bitter with molasses or maybe a brown sugar feel. Easy to fall in love with.
Mouth: Medium bodied. Sticky but not the most everlasting stickiness.
Overall: Beyond a good brew, sad but true it I would love to see this in the states but don't think it'll make it. Will have to have a few more servings before I never see it again. Salud!
