I really find this an enjoyable lager and have been looking forward to trying this one for a bit. Poured from a bottle, nice clear darkish gold with a medium foamy top. Nice, malty and hoppy lager with a really smooth finish. Too easy!

July 2017: Keg halfpint, as Five Lamps Dublin Lager, at Graingers, Dublin. Pale golden colour, white head. Nice fruity and floral hops in the aroma. Smooth fruity flavour throughout, very good.

I am trying a pint of this beer off the tapper at The Bleeding Horse pub in Dublin. It poured a clear golden with white head that is leaving a spotty lace. The scent had grain and subtle grass notes. The taste is nicely balanced and easy to drink with crisp malt base and grass and grain presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in the with good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

Pint on tap from Smugglers Creek Inn, Rossnowlagh (€4.80):
Light golden & bright with a clear body, there's a thin surface lacing that's bubbly & quite white & a few fine bubbles rising to the surface. The nose is light with lager malts, grassy notes & hay with faint biscuit malts; inoffensive is the most you can say about it. The taste is micht he same, grassy hops & light biscuit malts with a subtle hop bitterness & some grain. It's crisp, refreshing in the sun but fairly basic overall with a light body & tang at the end; nothing special but it goes down well.

Review: 500ml bottle of Five Lamps Lager: 4.2% vol.
In Bottles, cans and on tap in Dublin. Actually had it on tap in Dublin twice before and thoroughly enjoyed it, was lovely and crisp so I have high hopes for this one.
On the bottle you can be under no doubt where this beer is from, as they tell you “This is the beer of Dublin”, ok so!
A nice black bottle all the same, with the iconic 5 lamps imagery of Victorian Dublin. Lovely.
Onto the appearance, doesn’t look great at all, bit crap in fact. Clear golden colour with a small white head. Not a looker.
On the nose getting a real lagery aroma, faint but lager smells on the nose. Pale malt and grain.
Taste is not bad at all, nice creamy mouthfuls, typical lagery flavouring, malts and grains to the fore. Nice malty flavour with a distinct pilsner hop taste that is soft and inoffensive.
Overall, a bloody good lager, light and easy drinking, relaxing and went down well, it is what it is. Not the greatest out there but for an Irish lager its bloody good. Tasty.

On tap in Dublin. Clear golden color with white head. Smells of grain and floral hops. Light feel. Light malt flavors with some spicy hops. Well done and easy drinking.

At the Hotel bar in Dublin
Slightly hazy light golden in color with a thin white head that dissipates quickly.
Light green apple on the nose bits of crackery malt and spicy hops to counter.

Had on tap. Has full bready or honey cereal body and flavor. Nothing that will blow you away, but knows what it is and is happy to be so. Little light given the flavor palate, but I thought that was beneficiary so it didn't get weighed down on the grains.

Pours clear gold in color with minimal head. Taste is cereal, earthy and pilsner hops. Clean, light bodied with moderate carbonation and slightly bitter. Nice, sessionable no frills lager.
