Yep- as odd as it sounds, it kinda works here. A subtle hops blend of Fuggle, Centennial, and Nugget varietals provide a light green stab in the mouth. Pale, Caramel, Chocolate Malt, and Ashberne Mild malts create a chocolatey base that mixes well with the spiced Indonesian-style coffee. Nice grainy/coffee exhale. Not bad for an offbeat release.

12oz can, served in a snifter glass. Pours a dark brown body with a ruby reddish hue, two finger offwhite head, good retention, splotchy lacing. Smells of rich roasted coffee, grapefruit, a bit of resin and pine, caramel. This is a combination that worked well in Stone Dayman, and it works well here. It's hard to really explain unless you've had Dayman or a similar coffee IPA; the resin and coffee work really well together. It's more so the case as far as flavour goes; with a roasted dark coffee, with a bit of acidity like a Sumatran blend, which helps balance out the sweet caramel and grapefruit hop aromatics, with a resinous bitterness that still lingers, and a bit of char from the coffee bean. Nicely done, and again, it's quite similar to Dayman, so if you've had that, then you know what to expect from this one. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, a bit lighter presumably from the coffee, but plenty of depth is there. Good carbonation, a refreshing drink. Overall- a nice coffee IPA, easy to drink and maybe will perk me up a bit on this cool spring evening.

Smells of coffee, a little citrusy hops in there, too. Tastes like coffee, with a little bit of the citrus and bitterness of the hops after that first wave of coffee. There is a lot of coffee, which I love. I get a lot more of the hops after that first sip. I like this. I think the coffee and the hops works together.
