my first beer from these guys is a pretty standard take on the classic style, nothing too distinctive or ambitious about it at all, just a beer, but a fresh one, a balanced one, and a well made one, nice with pizza, what more could i reasonably expect from this? super pale yellow in color, gorgeously clear, but without as light a body as it looks when i get to drinking it, a little more body than anticipated, but i never really mind that, and this remains dry and crisp even with that structure. the malt flavor is super pale and light, maybe not as classically german as it often is, but i like it being so minimal, dry white bread croutons, wafer crackers, cereals, simple. there is a nice fresh hoppy pop at the end of this, not out of place, but freshness is not generally something that stands out in a kolsch to me, maybe something other than noble hops here, but its more or less traditional in how it comes across. awesome carbonation, finishing dryness, and round mouthfeel, this is drinkable forever, and worked well as an end of day patio beer. i look forward to having some more beers from perry street when i am back up that way, this was very well made and offers hope that the rest of their beer is equally solid!

I had this beer on-tap in a pint glass at the brewery.
Appearance: clear straw hue with a finger of frothy white foam.
Smell: quite grainy with a nice dryness. It's refreshing.
Taste: a little sweeter than the aroma but again with a nice graininess. A crisp and tasty Kölsch.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a well integrated carbonation and a very good creaminess for the style.
Overall: refreshing, tasty and creamy. What more can I ask of a Kölsch?
