This brewery is Situated on a thru street, but not much traffic all 3 times we went there. I believe the last time we were there was about 4 years ago. Both the owners, husband & wife were there all the time we were there. The area they are in looks like an industrial strip mall and they have 2 spaces. Not many people there 2 of the 3 times we were there. The other thing they close early, 8 PM but seeing they run it themselves I can understand. One evening we got there about 1/2 hr. before closing and the said the kitchen was closed. They directed us to another brewery about 2 miles away that had just opened. Everything was good but nothing special.

this is an interesting place, off the beaten path a little bit from what i gather, low brow, low key, decent beers, but apparently it has recently changed ownership and is undergoing a bit of a rebrand and relaunch, new name and everything, not sure when thats scheduled to actually happen, but it definitely felt like a place in transition when i was in. a pretty basic taproom set up, with the couple that owns and brews both present, both kind folks happy to chat. they have a rather large space, are predictably dog friendly, and have just a small bar in the front with the brewery not quite visible in the back. they had mostly fairly basic styles on the board, and a pretty small menu, which would make sense if they are phasing things out and getting ready to work new ones in. i had an irish dry stout that i liked quite well, and a scottish ale that was moderately less impressive. this is simple beer, executed pretty well, but largely unexciting as they go, not sure how they distinguish themselves from all the other breweries in the area with beers this straightforward, but maybe thats where the rebrand comes in. nothing was bad at all, it just didnt seem as modern as many of their competitors. i liked the friendliness in here, the enthusiasm for the beer, and beer in general, and the way i was made to feel right at home. i look forward to seeing what they turn it into, and will check back in on them when i am in the area again. quality stout in here for sure.

We visited English Setter Brewing on a quiet Saturday afternoon. The place was not busy.. The brewery has an upland game bird and hunting dog theme. Seating for about 70 at tables and another 6 at the bar. There is some outdoor seating in the back. The seats (stools) at the tables are not particularly comfortable.

There are a nine taps, all English Setter brews, which included a blonde, amber, brown, red, porter and four IPAs. All the beers were very drinkable.

Prices are very reasonable. $6.50 for a taste of each of the beers, $4.50 for a pint. We were there on a Groupon deal so it was an even better value, including two logo glasses.

We didn't try the food except for popcorn. The menu listed pub fare, sandwiches, burgers and pizza.

All in all a good place for a beer out in the east valley.
