Had this durring lunch on a day off.
Pleasant copper/amber body with a thin head that retained well and laced wonderfully down the side.
Lots of sweet malt fill your nose, followed by some subtle hints of caramel. Smelled very fresh.
Tastes is up there with Hacker O'fest. Malty with some mild sweetness. No alcohol is prevalent, even though it is sitting at about 7% ABV. Very drinkable.
Feels good, leaves a semi-dry finish that invites another drink.
I really wish I could have had another one of these, but my lunch was over. If you are ever in the area, grab one, you will not be let down.

This bad boy is 8% but highly drinkable unlike Summit's 7.7% monster that I love the hell out of but find to be more of a sipper...
Pours an impressive amber color...got a little whisp of a head out of the growler pour....Nose is BIG on caramel....very sweet...smells like melted caramel candies before you dunk the apples into them to make caramel apples...also some toasted malt on the nose...excellent aroma..
Body is a solid medium...full but not overly big...not sticky sweet like a doppelbock...a crisper feel to it...
Sweet malty flavor..a lot of caramel and toasted grains...earthy hops lay way in the background but provide a nice element that keeps this from becoming too sweet..
This is a hell of an O-fest...Damn I wish I lived near this place....I would buy a growler a week for sure until it was gone...right there with Granite City's 2005 O-fest from St. Cloud as my favorite brew pub o-fests for this year....Barley Johns would be next on my list below those two..

Scarlet red appearance. Slight head. Minimal lace. Nose is dominated by bready malts, but there are also some fruit contributions that are minor, yet seem a little out of place. I pick up trace green apple, pear and grape skin. There's some nice sweet, oozy caramel as well. At times, it's almost like smelling a gooey caramel coated apple. Clean flavor profile. Malts are all caramel. Slight carameled apple is carried over from the nose. Pretty rich overall. Nice. Thanks Big ZAP for thowing this one my way.
