On tap at the brewpub. The pilsner glass wasn't an asset, and the thin white head dwindled over the cloudy golden body.
Sweetish aroma, with bread, caramel, banana, and a backing spiciness. Alcohol is loud but not obnoxious.
Bready at the get-go in the mouth. It sweetens with caramel, banana bread, and vanilla. Booze hits early and stays the course, packing only a sweetish slickness. Yeast adds clove and pepper and light doughy funkiness. Alcohol resumes on the closure with some bitterness.
Full bodied, lowly carbonated. It's on the heavy, plodding side of a tripel, much in line with many of its US brothers. As such it's alright, but nothing more.
And lets see some proper glassware.

At the brewpub - a monthly special beer in December - anticipated for season.
Belgian Trip is one of my favorite styles, this one disappointed. Funky, fruit flavor upfront - blueberry? Not much of a mouthfeel for style...does not have the depth or fire I look for in style - yeast is not present at all either.

Drank at Delafield Brewhaus and reveiwed their. 10.00% by volume and aged 10 months. Served in taller, pilsner style glass that caved inwards towards the top.
This Belgian Tripel has a very orange-golden hue with a head that keeps together around the edges. It would probably look great in the sun and the lighting is not so good in this bar at night.
The aroma was very pleasant and smelled fruity and sweet with great yeast accents. Smell's close but not at all equal towards Duvel, slightly more alcoholic smell. Smell is not as light as Duvel.
Millennium Tripel is medium-bodied with very spicy and fruity flavors coming from the Belgian Monestery yeast. Very reminisant of Tripel's sampled off tap in Belgium and I would prefer a Duvel style glass. The body is slightly heavier than those tasted in Belgium. Very sweet and spicy and Millennium Tripel is very smooth when swished in the mouth. After taste lingers with alcoholic warmth after a seconds, and tingles the tounge.
Although alomost perfect, the carbonation could be put up slightly. The body works well and the sweetness coming through from the candi sugar. The very small lack of carbonation is not that bad at all.
I found this beer quite drinkable and enjoy it every time i drink it, not often. That is a good quality of Delafield Brewhaus, very drinkable beers from start to finish. As this beer warmed the flavors grew and it was enjoyed to the last drop. I am a big fan of Tripels though and personally find most Tripels quite easy to drink.
