A hearty brown color, glints of ruby red. Off white, almost beige head, not uniform in its presentation, some of it bundles together in different spots. Aroma gave up a substantial amount of roasted malt.
Everything here is to style, the roast, the body, the coffee/chocolate malt burnt impressions, a little bit of hops, carbonation, bitterness. It really is everything you've come to expect in an American Porter, and it does it relatively well, while not being exceptional at any one thing, it certainly has nothing bad or off about it. Above average.

Dark brown with red highlights. Not bad in a woman either I guess. Tan head, clumpy and clingy. Aroma, rich, burnt malt.
All the normal compenents in a decent porter. None over the top, or even 'strong'. Chococoffee, caramel, nuts. A good degree of bitterness and hops, especially for this brewery, that seems to specialize in lagers.
Could use some pick me up at the end, became smoother, but also more watery, so its a give and take. I'd take another if you offered.

A: On tap at the brewpub, poured into a pint glass. Blackish brown with a tan head. Head is retained pretty well, leaves some lacing.
S: Chocolate and coffee, also some floral hops
T: Roasted malts, coffee, chocolate. I'm not tasting the hops as much as I smelled them.
M: Full bodied, maybe not quite enough carbonation
D: Pretty good, flavorful without being overpowering. I'd have another.

on tap the the brewpub in Delafield. pours a deep brown with fiery amber highlights and a single finger of light tan dense head. solid lacings and moderate retention make this a standard porter in the glass.
aroma is of lightly roasted malts with coffee and chocolate notes, alongside a touch of vanilla and some earthy undertones in the background.
taste follows the nose with a bit of grain and a smooth profile that fnishes with notes of caramel and coffee, with roasted malts lasting the longest. well composed on the palate.
mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with a malty backbone and a satisfying finish.
drinkability is good. an easy-going porter with just the right amount of character without being too rich or watrered down. an above average porter from Delafield.

1/2 gallon growler.
This beer is a dark shade of ruby. Clear. A one middle finger head. Brown in color. Lacing comes in droopy rings. Aroma is pretty nice. There's char, chocolate, tobacco and piney hops. Almost like a watered down version of Alpha Klaus. The flavor has got a little edge to it. I like it. Again, almost like the Alpha Klaus stepped down a notch or two. Burnt malt tones and bitter, piney hops meet with tobacco, smoke and char to form a middle ground. Dry roasted peanuts and baker's chocolate add to the depth. The mouthfeel is a little watery and low on CO2. But that may be to a poor seal on the growler. My barkeep, it turns out, didn't really tighten the cap down properly. Still, quite the enjoyable porter.
