Inky black appearance. Just a skimming of a light brown head. Not much. Aroma is sweet. And also has some bourbon characteristics to it. Chocolatey and roasty as well. The taste is quite forward...and sweet. Bourbon-like sweetness. (This one sat in a whiskey barrel for 10 months.) Chocolate and caramel are big as well. Toffee comes to mind. Vanilla bean. Oak. Lots of good things happening on the palate with this one. Big full body. Carbonation is low, but fitting. And the heat can hardly be felt from this high A/V brew. Quite drinkable that way.
Another nice Big Brew from Delafield. They seem to have a handle on brewing the Big Ones.
