Crisp as the colors at the start of the first polo chukker, our deep golden Czech pilsner is as easy drinking as it is flavorful. Brewed in the tradition of classic Bohemian Pilsners, Chukker has an appealing spicy and floral character from the use of noble Czech Saaz Hops, perfectly balanced with light tones of toasted bread from pilsen and caramel malts. Enjoy a Chukker with its noble pedigree, like the game once played by Sultans and Kings!

Color and clarity are good and true to style.
Smell is fantastic spicy Saaz hops and other nobles.
Taste is good and nearly crisp. More body and residual sweetness than I was expecting for a beer of ~4.4% abv.
Leaves a sourness and twang on the tongue, again, similar to a higher gravity brew. ...strange. ...But not bad.
Beer should have either higher abv. or less body IMHO.

Drank from Ikea water glass, made in bangladesh. Temp was 45F rising to 60F. Still very drinkable at 60F.

A: Medium yellow in color, clear with a white head.

S: Bready, with a hint of sugarand apparently a hint of herbal spice. Herbal and grassy.

T: Bready with an odd sweetness, not cloying, but something odd there, almost a touch fusel. It is a little similar to the strong Euro lagers that crank out boozy beers quick. Bitterness is strong with earthy, herbal, and grass notes.

M: Medium in body, with high carbonation, and a long bitter cling.

O: Overall this is a style of beer that is really making a strong showing in craft breweries right now, and this one falls short of it's contemporaries.

Poured from a bottle into a shaker pint, the beer is a crystal clear, caramel gold color with a slow flow of carbonation in the body, and a filmy, sparse, clingy, white head. Nose of rich caramel and roasted nut sweetness. Very malty. Flavors are roasted forward, with a solid bitter hops blast of pepper and grass, with some floral highlights, and a solid caramel base. Smooth bodied, with a crisp, dry foundation. Rich and roasted caramel aftertaste, with a dry, crisp finish.

12 oz bottle, poured into a pint glass

Appearance: Pours a pretty, golden/slight-amber color with a quarter of a finger of white-colored head that quickly dissolved away into a thin lacing of foam that completely covered the top of the beer.

Aroma: Nice aromas of bready, toasted malt, imparting notes of freshly baked sourdough bread and biscuits. There are some aromas of caramel, black pepper, and a touch of honey. Slightly musty in aroma too.

Taste: Nice flavors of a really well-crafted pilsner. Toasted malt up front, followed by lots of caramel and brown sugar-like sweetness, a touch of black pepper. At the finish there is a touch of floral, grassy, piney, slightly citrusy, slightly bitter (but not overpowering) hops. Quite nice.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied, crisp and nicely effervescent, as there is a lot of carbonation to tickle the taste buds. With an ABV of 4.4%, there is no alcohol on the palate.

Overall: This is a very, very nice pilsner. Malty, slightly hoppy, crisp, refreshing, satisfying, well-crafted. I’d certainly drink it again! Nothing like a BMC, fizzy, yellow-beer pils.
