Poured on tap in a snifter, the beer is jet black and creamy thick, with a dense, creamy, clingy, light tan head. Aromas of subtle cherry tart, bittersweet baker's chocolate, toasted notes, sweet cream highlights, and roasted coffee in the backbone. Flavors are rich and creamy forward, with a subtle boozy kick, and a solid backbone of coffee, chocolate, and earthy tones. Creamy vanilla richness and subtle tart cherry add highlights add depth. The body is creamy and smooth, and surprisingly light for the size. The aftertaste is heavily roasted coffee and chocolate, with a building bitterness as you go. Solid chocolate and vanilla linger past the smooth, creamy finish. Good beer.

Cherries start to show more as it warms up. Feels a little thin. Very tasty overall!

From the bottle, it pours super dark brown with a reddish tinge on the edge. Small head as it came from a growler fill. Chocolate cherry and some roast scent in the nose, followed up by the same in the mouth. Alcohol does not overwhelm. I am impressed!
