8 oz pour on draft. Pitch black in color with no head head. Some lacing appears around the glass throughout. The nose is completely dominated by coconut, shame that the coffee and other ingredients aren't noticeable. Coconut sweetness comes through strong with each sip. There are some slight coffee and chocolate notes.
If you like coconut you'll probably enjoy this beer but it was a bit too sweet for my liking.

From the growler it pours a very dark brown with a tan head. Coconut is heavy in the nose and inviting...The mouth gets more roasted malt, with the coconut coming through as well. Not bad 'tall!

On tap:
Pours typical black or near. A half finger head on tap pour falls to a creamy medium tan cover to the beer. Initial lacing started, it sheets up in early sips.

Nose is very heavy on coconut, in between natural and artificial smelling. Coffee is hidden by this, but a deep roast richness sneaks through. A vague Almond Joy reminiscent note as it warms. Wish for a little more balance.

Taste also brings the coconut forward, with a slight astringency that begs the question of extract. Another explanation is the roasted malt (or coffee) straining the coconut flavor. A bitter coffee note works through the coconut, bringing a bitterness that may be the additive or the malt - I’m leaning the latter. Slightly chemical ending as things crash together.

The coconut seems to powerful to be completely natural, but is more distracting in the nose. The ending falls off more than I’d like, as its fairly solid until then. A bold option, and decently made assuming that’s the goal.
