A classic British style dark ale, spiced for winter! Dark malts lend a toasted bread flavor with hints of toffee, chocolate, coffee, and brown sugar. Ginger adds a pleasant zing, while the cinnamon and plum additions impart warmth and dark fruit character.

12 ounce draft pour at the brewery.
L: Clear chestnut in a dimly lit room, ruby highlights, khaki head and lace, foam remains as a cap for the duration, lively pour.
S: Light alcohol, dark sugary malt, baking spice, sour dark fruit.
T: Tart and a tiny bit funky, low sweetness, spicy, spice reminds me of Chinese five spice (the ginger variety), fairly dry overall, dry spicy finish.
F: Medium-weight creamy feel, fairly smooth with a moderate carb bite.
O: Not bad, lacking malt character perhaps, would like it better if it were more rich sweet.
