Look: It pours a hazy copper color with a light tan head. The head has low head retention.
Smell: It has cherry aromas with a slight sulfur presence, floral, and grainy elements.
Taste: The taste is somewhat grainy, with cherry, low bread, moderate floral, some spice and a balance that starts with the malt and ends with the hops.
Feel: It has a moderate body and is somewhat crisp in the finish.
Overall, it is a fairly well balance beer with a color darker than any Kolsch I've ever had. However, it has decent flavors and decent aromas.

On tap at the Raleigh Flying Saucer. This beer is more of a lite fruit ale than a kolsch. Darker than normal for the style, it is a generic amber with a thin white head. Smell is of sweet malt and non descript fruits. Interesting but somewhat confusing flavor profile with multiple fruit esters. There are tropicals, citrus and berry tastes going on but nothing that really says kolsch or refreshing to me. Mouthfeel is also a bit heavy for the style. Overall not a bad beer, just needs more refinement and maybe call it something other than a kolsch.

Purchased a six pack based on it being a kolsch. A style I have only had a few other times but have enjoyed. Definelty get the blood orange in this one and a decent hop note. Don't really feel raspberry come to mind but it does have a sour/bitter finish that doesn't linger. Overall it reinforces my desire to try more of this style but it's not as refreshing as I would like when I'm drinking this type of beer.

Poured on-tap at Mac's Speed Shop in Fayetteville. Served in a shaker pint, the beer is amber colored, with a wispy, filmy coating of head. Nose of muted citrus notes, with a caramel sweet backbone. A bit unbalanced and not overly style specific, but interesting. Flavors are clumsy, with a semisweet and toasted backbone, and a rich and sweet blood orange overlay providing a very tart raspberry highlight. Smooth in mouth, but heavy, with a tart raspberry aftertaste. The finish is clean, and slightly dry. Very unique, but misses that refreshing feel of a Kolsch, due to the weight/body.
