Served in tulip. Poured a semi cloudy reddish brown, with just a thin cap of white head that had low retention and lacing.

The aroma had a solid grain base, a light touch of yeast, and a hint of fruitiness. On the tongue those features were expended, and there was the addition of a noticeable hop twang on the finish.

The body was medium-full, smooth and evenly balanced. Drinkability was great, I'm going to grab a growler to take to a friends house, for cheese smoking we're doing this afternoon. Overall, a pretty nice brew. The brewer admits it's their first batch, and they're not sure if they want to edge closer to traditional Dubbel territory, or maybe "wander" over to a sour brown/Flemish Red area. Worth trying when you see it.
