My first review under the new system, and my first review of this style, Koyt. Served in Nonic. Poured a clean, clear, straw gold color, with about 1/4 inch of white head that dissipated quickly, and left light lacing.
The aroma is mostly grains, (there are Oats and wheat in the malt bill, but I wouldn't have been able to pick them out if I hadn't been told) and had a very pleasant earthiness. There is a notable hop presence as well, lightly floral and slightly earthy. On the tongue, the hops have a bolder presence. On the front there is a sharp, crisp tang, in the middle there is a bold bright aspect that I couldn't pin a specific aspect on, even discussing the beer with the brewer for 5 minutes. The beer has a very dry finish, with some citrus tones, without tasting like citrus. If that makes any sense to you. It surely don't to me.
The body is great, medium, clean, and dry. Drinkbility is top shelf, you could drink several of these. Easily. Overall, a really good beer. Kind of like a really crisp, dry APA. Get thee to Bellingham or Ballard while this brew is available.
