Pitch brown opaque body with a tan head with bands of thick lacing. Smells of dark fruit, candi sugar, belgian yeast and mild dark grain. Taste has nice date and prune highlights in the middle of this well made dubbel, otherwise what the nose foretold. Medium bodied and so smooth, yeast after malt as is proper, but limited in depth because it is new world yeast. Thought this to be a very pleasant new world dubbel

How many places have a Dubbel on tap as one of their everyday beers? And are happy to fill a 32 oz growler at a decent price.
Very attractive coppery red-brown color, clear but with a a sticky foam in the narrow-waisted beer glass. Mouthfeel is light and not as carbonated as average beers, but there is a tickle and a zingy finish. Inviting grainy aroma with something from the oven, like apple tart. Aftertaste is quite yeasty with the bitter Belgian dry taste. Some fruity flavors and black tea with apple butter, just not at all sweet. Quite tangy. Seems stronger than the ABV that you'd expect in an IPA. A very drinkable sort of Dubbel.

Served On-Tap
A — Pours a deep and dark coppery hue, reddish tone around the edges. There is a thin and off-white colored head that forms and leaves behind thick sticky lacing.
S — Smells of Belgian yeast and malts, bit of Candi sugar to it as well, burnt brown sugar, molasses, caramel, dark fruits like figs and plums.
T — Mostly sweet and rich, notes of dark brown sugar, candied plums and raisins, figs, dates. Balanced with a big malt and yeast presence, very rich.
M — Not as heavy as you may think, there are lots of bright fruits that cut through the sweetness.
O — Nice overall, a little bit light for the style, but still very good.

Pours a nice mix of red/brown in color, without much head (It had sat in a Barker for a day though.) It's a sweet/rich/malty style that goes down well. Definitely would recommend to anyone that isn't a huge fan of beer, as the harsher flavors are subdued by the candy sugar that is added in the brewing process. It's flavors are a bit simple but nonetheless very satisfying. Mouthfeel is light which adds to it's drinkability.

Served in 12oz goblet. Poured a nicely clear version of the expected deep red color, and had about 1/3 inch of khaki head that dissipated quickly and left just a ring on the top of the beer.
The aroma was very subdued, mellow grains, light fruit, and just a bit of yeast. On the tongue the beer was noticeably bolder. The grains provided a nice foundation, and the fruits were a bit bolder. The yeasty spice added a nice counter-point to the light sweetness, and lingered a bit at the back of the palate.
The body was smooth and even, yet wasn't heavy at all, perhaps even a bit lighter than expected. Drinkability was very nice, I can foresee drinking multiples of these during the upcoming rainy season. Overall, a nice take on the style. It won't make you forget the the top examples, but you'll enjoy your time together.
