Big. Roasty. Chocolate. Burnt ends. Well balanced with little heat for a 9.0% ABV beer. Waiting for the bourbon barrel aged version!

A good deal of char and roast. Otherwise, this is a decent imperial stout.

Served in 12oz goblet. Poured an expected solid black with 1/4 inch of light brown head that dissipated very quickly and left moderate lacing.
The aroma was about as expected, some grains, notable roast, light cocoa. The beer was pretty similar on the tongue, just bolder and better defined. The chocolate notes were more notable (which is a positive for me), and roast a bit softer (another plus).
The body was a bit too thin for me, when I have a big stout, I want a big body, but I can see where some folks might like it that way. The beer went down smoothly, which is sometimes not the case with this style. Drinkability was very good, if your idea of a "session" involves big beers, this would be an excellent choice. Overall, a good, but mostly typical take on the style. Worth trying.
