Dark amber-tinged brown with a modest foam in the Brasserie Dupont chalice. Fragrant with coffee. Quite coffee tasting with a pleasing spiciness. This is a lighter-bodied sort of big stout. Mellow and pleasingly malty. Just a slight bitter edge with a booze-tinged barrel tang. From the 32 oz jug filled at Elizabeth Station in Bellingham.

Served On-Tap
A — Pours a deeply dark brown hue into the glass, nearly black and opaque, there is little to no light visible around the edges. Dark brown and rich looking head sits atop the beer and leaves some spotty clingy lace along the inside of the glass.
S — Smells of coffee, char, light chocolate, toasted malts, little bit of a hint of caramel sweetness. Quite complex but very roasted and coffee forward, in a great way.
T — Tastes a little bit more muted than the nose, but it does increase intensity as it warms, lots of coffee, chocolate, cinnamon, roasted malts and cocoa. Very nice indeed.
M — Medium-Full bodied, long lasting finish that coats the tongue.
O — Really nice overall, would love to taste a BA version of this beer (just please don't use HH barrels again, get something good). Keep up the good work Wander.
