Pour is a deep rich clear mahogany/cherry colour. Decent fuzzy off white head. Decent retention.
Nose has a couple of different things going on... There's some stone fruit, a light tartness, some light earthy note and some faint cocoa. Interesting and nuanced blend of flavours presenting here.
Initial burst is of tart stone fruit and some vinous oaky bitterness, but the cocoa comes in and coats things to linger. As it warms the vinous oak overtakes the cocoa coating, which is too bad. That might sound like a random assortment of flavours, but it works together, quite well in my opinion.
Light body with bright carbonation. Small sips, in my opinion, offer the best experience of this beer. At that interaction you get the tart vinous oakiness simmering over a rich stone fruit body, and the finish carries a dry cocoa powder impression through the end. That's really how this beer should be enjoyed, and done appropriately it's incredible, unique, and layered.
Really glad yo have checked it out.
