Served in pint glass (not a shaker or nonic). Poured an almost solid black, just a tiny bit of red around the edges, with 1/4 inch of tan head that low retention and light lacing.
The aroma had a very nice roast scent, very bold, and just a bit of grainy malt showed through underneath.
The roast was even stronger on the tongue, and lasted all through the glass. the light grain added a nice balance point.
The body was nicely light and crisp, and had a dry finish.
Drinkability was very good, I will be knocking back more of these. Overall, this beer, a collaboration brew with Haymarket from Chicago, was very nice. Worth checking out if you see it.
