Served in pint glass. Pored an almost black dark red color with just a thin cap of khaki head that had low retention and lacing.
SMOKE is the main descriptor for the aroma. lots of bold, yet delicate, smoke. Just a hint of the underlying grain in the background.
The smoke also dominates on the tongue, but you can pick out some contrasting hops, and some base grain notes.
The body was medium-thin, crisp and had a semi-dry finish.
Drinkability was very good, especially if you like the style. Overall, a very good example of the style. Worth trying in general, and a must hit if you're a fan of the smoke.
