10oz pour at Happy Trails To Brews for $8.50.
Black as Russell Wilson's current reputation in Denver, with a bubbly mocha colored head.
Whoa! Whole lot going on in the nose. Coffee is a big part of it, but there's also cinnamon and a sweet, candyish aroma that's reminiscent of...nougat? That's what it reminds me of. I was expecting it to smell boozy, but I think that's crowded out by the other aspects, especially the cinnamon.
Unlike in the nose, the taste is ruled by the cinnamon and the coffee kinda struggles to make itself stand out. The candyish flavor from the nose is mostly absent.
Medium bodied, with an almost watery mouth feel. I mean, it's not really full-on watery, but it's a little thin for what's basically a pastry coffee stout
Interesting, but not something I'd be driven to hit again. Maybe if it was laid down for a year or so and the cinnamon mellowed a bit, I'd really dig it
