Pours a lovely golden yellow that's generally clear, though I wouldn't call it crisp. Small tight white head that mostly migrates to the edges. Minimal lacing.
Nose is nice and welcoming. I feel like I stepped into a time machine. This is much more in line with the IPAs of yore, which is a welcome development to my palate. Nice moderate hops with a subtle grain supporting cast. Nothing really jumps out at you, but it's just a pleasant mellow blend of citrus and floral notes and some other fruits.
Flavour keeps that theme going with a definite citrusy punch on the back end starting off somewhat grapefruit, but laced through with plenty of lime oil which is not my favourite citrus expression in beer, but it doesn't overwhelm too badly here. There's some nice flush of... I don't know maybe it's like dried peach? Is there a touch of strawberry? Maybe like fake strawberry. But nah it's more the peach and the citrus.
The body is nice and smoothe, the finish gets sharply bitter... honestly my biggest copmlaint is that that oily lime-y nature builds on itself and can get a bit overwhelming. I've had beers where that was a significantly bigger problem, but it's not absent here.
Overall this is a pleasantly enjoyable brew. I'm not entirely sure what in its profile screams west coast, other than the fac that it's not hazy and triple dry hopped and blah blah blah, but it's enjoyable enough and in a market that has gotten so saturated with such items I'll take what I can get.

Clear darker shade of amber with plenty of foam in the big Tripel Karmeliet tulip. Aromatic with peach and mango with a whiff of citrus. Quite smooth and spritzy on the tongue with a tangy finish. Warm with malt but not overly sweet. Malty body. Flavors of papaya, orange, pine, and cereal. Overall this is a delicious and highly drinkable hoppy brew. One of the best efforts from Wander I've had in a long time, especially since they ruined Googly Eyes. From the 16 oz can. No apparent date.
