my first beer from these guys is a sturdy amber colored ale with a nice frothy tan head on it, good clarity, and a lot of bubbles. its a french style beer, but its not as yeast driven as i know a biere de garde type to be, that aspect of this seems a little underdeveloped to me. rather, it might be lost in part to a darker, richer, and more robust malt profile than i am used to in the style, this is weighty, bready and a little sweet in the middle, notes of dried red apple, candied citrus, and bran. hearty and sort of with a from the earth vibe, its autumnal, rustic, and very well made. it never really finishes though, despite not ending up all that sweet, and it lingers awhile. id love the yeast aspect to be more prominent, and its hard for my palate to appreciate this as french, like it could almost just as easily be english. a cool beer for this time of year though, especially with all the body, and something a bit more ambitious than a classic american amber ale. i will be on the lookout for more beer from jailbreak!

Copper brown with little head.
Heavier on malt, sort of like a brown ale. Some spice maybe cinnamon? A little bit of yeast funk, not much bitterness.
Not familiar with the style so not sure what to make of it.
