So, full disclosure: I am a longtime fan of the band and picked up a single (six bucks!) basically on that alone since my previous samplings from Jailbreak were kind of a mixed bag at best. Then, because I did all my shopping in one trip (corona-aware!) and was loaded down with groceries stepping into my apt, the beer tumbled from its bag and punctured on the floor, losing about a third before I could rescue it. Plus, I kind of had to drink it right away. Highly annoying.
Nice black body but almost no head after the first thirty seconds. Nose is chocolate and spice. This is heavy in texture but you still get a bit of alcohol burn, hardly a surprise at nine and a half abv. The spice melange kicks in a little late, but the cinnamon and cayenne add some complexity and improve the aftertaste considerably. Could use some additional creaminess in the texture. Definitely a sipper, and still not sure what the Bouncing Souls connection is (the blatant ripoff picture and title of their best album seemed bold), but as far as Mexican chocolate stouts go, you could do worse.

Part of a flight at the brewery. Listed as a Mexican hot chocolate imperial stout, and it tastes exactly like what you would expect. Rich, but not cloying. A touch of heat, but mostly on the finish. Not quite sure how to describe the smell other than pleasant and inviting. Smooth mouthfeel accentuates the chocolate notes that linger into the finish. Warming and delicious.
