Poured aggressively from an undated 12-oz can into a pint thistle glass.
Look: Clear, pretty brown, with a 1" head that lingered a few minutes, leaving some lacing.
Nose: Malt, and maybe some dried dark stone fruit.
Mouthfeel: Thinner than I might have expected, some carbonation.
Attack: Some malt, maybe a bit of smoke, but not a whole lot more.
Finish: Very slight hop bitterness.
Overall: The look was wonderful, and the nose very pleasant, but the other aspects unfortunately didn't measure up to those. Very drinkable, and at 5% ABV sessionable, but I'm not sure I'd want to drink that much of it at a time. i bought a six-pack, and won't pour out the others — it's not unpleasant to drink — but I'll probably drink them when I'm thirsty for just a little more than water. If the brewer could build in more depth of flavor … .

Since the last batch of another reviewer. I can say the carbonation is up there, couldn’t get a good pour to save my life and nothing below nearly all foam.
Good flavor but don’t let it sit for more than 5 minutes. Beer really thins out fast but goes down like silk. Minimum Smokey after taste if you look for it.
Not a bad a beer to try but won’t be my go to.

22 ounce bottle, no dating.
Pours a clear reddish brown, small head of foam that disappears almost immediately. Seems like all of their beers in bottles suffer from that.
Caramel malt with some light smoke in the smell. Deep whiffs reveal more sweetness than I normally care for.
Taste has some smoke, caramel malt, and a big dose of, what I perceive as, diacetyl. Butterscotch. Nasty bi product.
Body is very thin, watery in the finish.
Oh my. These bottles from Coal Creek TAP are very disappointing. I hope they can do better in the future. As is now, I won't buy any more.

A:
Pours an opaque reddish brown with little to no white head and a vague ring around the glass edge. Poor retention; hardly any lacing.
S:
Malty and sweet. Cereal, prunes, dirt, bubblegum.
T:
Earthy and a bit sweet. Wet earth, dark fruits, caramel malt.
M:
Thin and watery with good carbonation, a medium body and little else going on.
O:
Okay version of a Scotch ale.
Nothing to write home about but definitely not outright bad. This is a sweet and oaty beer with a thin body and a nearly instantly disappearing taste.
Would not have again; maybe worth a shot.
