Bought at Liquor Shed. My can says 4.2%abv.

Pours a pale/straw gold with plenty of foam.

It smells hoppy, has notes of toasted malt, bready malt to a lesser degree.

The taste has very noble hops like character, toasted and bready malt of roughly equal proportions, light in body but not watery.

Yikes, that's a lot of flavour in a 4.2%abv beer. Well done!

this is light, distinctive, uniquely yeast forward but still traditional, and further proof that these guys really can do it all, i swear they have to be one of the most underappreciated breweries in the region, they positively slay, and they deserve a lot more love than they get. this is right to me, possibly even decoction mashed, its got a bready european grain profile but is also very light. its light to look at too, but not overly clear, i like a little character left in my pils. the hops are not overdone but seem distinct too, maybe not entirely noble, or at least not entirely saaz, i like the subtle wrinkle of leafy green tea before the finish on this and the light citrus pop on the swallow. there is wonderful balance here, the yeast seems active and efficient here, still working even though this is dry, the carbonation is awesome too. the water profile is great as well, not sure if or how its treated or if the local water just lends itself to this, but its spot on for what they have done with the rest of the beer from there. to a casual lager fan this might not seem like anything special, might even come across as understated, but to a rabid fan of the style who is rarely fully satiated on them and has come to love every nuance, this really stands out from the crowd. bravo, a really killer effort here! i could drink a dozen or more...
