12oz glass at the brewery. Weird name for a brew, what with the kiddie connotations.
This beer appears a somewhat glassy, pale golden yellow colour, with one finger of puffy, frothy, and bubbly bone-white head, which leaves a pockmarked wall of limestone lace around the glass as it quickly blows off.
It smells of bready, doughy, and crackery pale malt, soft overripe apples and pears, subtle hard water notes, and earthy, leafy, and slightly floral hops. The taste is gritty, grainy pale malt, more mixed pome fruitiness, a touch of edgy yeast, and steady earthy, leafy, and weedy hops.
The carbonation is nice and playful in its minor fizziness, the body a solid middleweight for the style, and well smooth, the hops too gentle to mess anything up here. It finishes off-dry, the lingering fruitiness tangling with the crispness of the malt.
For a way too hot-seeming day when it's only +20 out, this really hits the spot. Simple, pleasantly grainy, and something I could see putting back on the expansive patio if I had more time to spend here.
