Our traditional Brown Porter is brewed with English Dark Malts to give it the perfect balance of toasted grain and smooth chocolate flavor. Our twist on this classic style comes from the addition of toasted coconut, giving our Porter a subtle hint of delicious tropical flavor.

16oz can into a glass. NO freshness dating.
Black body ,small beige head which quickly disappears to nothing.
Slightly malty aroma, nothing else, certainly no coconut on the nose.
taste itself isn't too bad. Did get some faint coconut at the end.
Medium on the mouth, slightly fizzy on the finish, which I didn't care for at all.
Overall, just a bit too light and carbonated for this palate. Won't be revisiting this one.

Not good at all. Has a little sourness that is also in the aroma. Wondering if I got a bad one. Bummer but it's a drain pour

I felt like rating this beer for one reason. It boggles my mind that this beer has a lower rating than Oskar Blues Death by Coconut. Yes, right now I am actually drinking a Death by Coconut that was brewed on 11/1/16. Crystal Ball blows this Coconut Porter out of the water in comparison to OB (I absolutely love OB's Old Chub, so I have nothing against the brewery). Had it with a friend at a local brewfest (early on) and decided we would just drink this the rest of the time because of how good it really was. It's an easy drinking, low abv. beer that is delicious!

A- Dark black with a 2 finger head that is frothy tan and mountainous lacing around inside of pint.
S- smokey coffee malt smell.
F- acidic roasted malts with hints of coconut. The coconut is in the background and the malts overshadow it.
M- acidic and malty. Was hoping for more coconut. Medium bodied porter.
O- not bad...an average porter but was hoping for a touch more coconut.

Poured from a tallboy can into a tulip glass.
L: Pours a dark, dark brown... nearly black. 2 fingers of tannish head with only mild lacing.
S: Acidic... roasted coffee beans and toasted coconut.
T/F: Roasted malts and coffee up front... acidic and almost slightly tart/tangy. Nutty and earthy... faint toasted coconut, but not at all overpowering. Moderate carbonation... a little sticky on the mouth. No real hop presence.
O: Not a bad coconut porter and a solid take on the style. I like that it's a porter first and a coconut experiment second. Very drinkable... a small step below 'Death by Coconut' but may be just as hard to find.

Very dark brown body with a 1 finger cream colored head and good lacing. The smell is pretty typical for a porter, lots of roasted, smoky smells, not much coconut coming through. The taste was actually very refreshing. Instead of artificial, candy type coconut, it's a very pure and fresh coconut taste. Good, deep roasted coffee type flavors mixed with a tangy sweetness from the coconut. I thought the feel was perfect, medium body and just enough prickly carbonation to enhance that sharp sweetness from the coconut. Looking forward to trying some more stuff from this brewery.
