A- light copper color with half finger foam head. Poor lacing. Clear.

S- a musty earthly malt scent. A fruity grape or apple scent comes through as well.

F- taste is sour fruit and fruity esters with the musty malts.

M- malty and sour but fairly smooth for a tripel. Heavy on the booze

O- grainy and malty with the fruity esters that are sour...not bad but could use some improvement. i like it though.

Another beer from the large package given to me by woodychandler before I left PA for warmer climes last November. Thanks, man. Poured from a 16 oz. can. Has a dark golden/copper color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is a bit fruity, malts are present as well. Taste is fruits, malts, spices, alcohol well hidden, tasty. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is an enjoyable beer.

I was CANplaining in an earlier review that it often befalls The CANQuest (tm) to add CANned beers and/or their pictures. This is another example, in terms of the approved pic.

From the CAN: "Seek the Finest"; "[CAN]tains a Magical 1 Pint/16 Fl. Oz of Brew."; Interestingly, the winking monk in the crystal ball is flashing a peace sign!

I Crack!ed the CAN open and given a pint CAN, I went with a gentle slow pour, producing two-plus fingers of dense, tawny head with great retention. Color was Amber to Deep Amber/Light Copper (SRM = > 9, < 13) with NE-quality clarity. Nose had a heavily musty scent, undoubtedly yeast-driven, but smelling like old newspapers from the attic. Mouthfeel was medium. The taste was unexpectedly like banana bread! Loads of banana esters underlain with bready malts. Holy spit in the ocean, but this was dangerously easy drinking! I had slugged down easily half of it without even so much as a blink. Phew! Slowing down, I almost lost this entire review when something glitched! Another recovery for which to give Thanks. I kid you not, warming, this became even smoother and quicker! I am really feeling it now. Finish was dry, but pleasant. It had a liquor-like flavor as I inhaled and I CAN see this in my future.

A tripel in a can, interesting. Overall I was disappointed. There beer had almost no head, no lacing, almost appeared to be a cider. Not much aroma, light caramel and alcohol. The flavor was not as bad, it was tasty but there was something off that I could not put my finger on. Overall not a horrible beer, and while you get the alcohol in the aroma it did not show up as much in the taste, covered well. Not what I would call clean or smooth but it still went down surprisingly fast.
