Poured from a crowler into a snifter, the beer is jet black, with a thin, filmy, light tan head. Aromas of roasted coffee, subtle milk chocolate, and hints of vanilla. Flavors are heavily roasted and robust coffee forward, followed by heavy lactose sweetness, subtle vanilla, and solid char. Bold and full bodied, but with a thin edge. The aftertaste is roasted coffee and char, lingering on past the smooth, slightly dry finish. Good beer.
