Featuring a grist of 100% UK Marris Otter, Brown, and Black malt in the exact proportions of that once storied stout, this beer was designed to showcase what the malt and roast character of Imperial Stouts from a bygone era might have been like.
Fermented with a dependable UK ale strain to a historically accurate, albeit dryer, level of sweetness than current stouts, and bottle conditioned at length for velvety, lush carbonation.
We taste notes of dark espresso bean, toasted walnut, vanilla cream, dark tobacco, and black cherry cocoa, with a lingering roast forward finish.

Pours a dark brown perhaps jet black. Tan head dissipates - retention is fleeting. Coffee and toasted almond on the nose. There's coffee, roast, cinnamon, and some almond skins. The hops are present and provide a touch of medicinal/menthol bitterness for the back of the throat, the alcohol is there, which is not a negative in this case. It's super dry, driven by that roast and bitterness as the central players. This is a good American stout.

The beer pours a voluminous brown head that does not dissipate and remains fairly constant until the last drop. The beer itself is a dark chocolate brown that appears black. It looks absolutely delicious.
The smell is very good. It starts off a bit vinegary but it develops very well when it warms up into an indulgent roasted dark chocolate and moderate roasted malt note with milk chocolate as well.
The taste notes are the same in the smell but come at different times. The beer starts with a milk chocolate but immediately morphs into a dark chocolate note with a roasted caramel malt in the finish. It lingers for so long and is so delicious.
The feel is good. It has as heavy body that has a milky texture to it and tingling carbonation.
Overall, this is a delicious beer worth getting and having if available.
