Hazy brew - about an inch of head, and stellar lacing. Reminiscent of pineapple juice.
Slightly grassy, slightly sugary candy smell. Some fruit peels. Not overpowering, you really have to seek them out.
Taste is less subtle - fruit forward, passionfruit, mango. All welcomed. Nelson hops usually bring in some grape-quality, and there is some sauvignon Blanc, but it is in the background. Full complex, hefty feel in the long finish. Real pleasant and dangerously hides the alcohol.
For a brewery with a full collection of boozy IPAs, this is among the best I've had.
