Look: Pours deep, inky black into the glass with a dense, dark tan head that leaves a rich stain as it’s swirled. Looks super rich without being stupidly thick.
Aroma: The aroma is the perfect balance of beer, oak and spirit, creating a warm, inviting base. Dark chocolate and coffee add a depth and complexity. A subtle hint of black cherries.
Flavor: The flavors explode on the palate. Rich dark chocolate takes center stage, complemented by a subtle warmth of bourbon and a hint of Oreo cookie. The coffee notes provide a grounding element, while the dry bitter finish keeps the sweetness in check. It’s just super flavorful, and so well balanced.
The mouthfeel is almost perfect. The beer has a rich body, with just the right amount of carbonation. The bitterness is a touch too drying, but considering the overall beer, it’s not out of place.
By far the best Triple Crossing beer I’ve ever had. Brilliant.
